How strong are the candles when I burn them? We've created a range of scents that have a range from no scent at all (Naked), a very light complementary scent, a balanced (mid range scent level) to a strong scent (quite noticeable). Our scent throw level is listed in our descriptions. The size of candle in your room of choice will also affect how much scent fills the air. We recommend that our smaller tins be used in smaller spaces like bathrooms. Our largest 12 ounce candles are better suited for living rooms or larger spaces. Try burning multiple fragrances together to create a truly unique and personal warmth and feeling!

Why does my candle smell better in certain places than others?Did you know that airflow plays a big part in the fragrance getting from the candle to your nose? Too little airflow will keep the scent grounded. Too much airflow will just carry the scent away. It's a balance of gentle moving air that will give your candle the most uplifting carrier of fragrance.

What is the best way to burn my candle?Your candle comes ready to light. We have tested, tested and re-tested all of our products to ensure the best possible burn. Our wicks are selected based on our formulations and container size...Yes, that matters! You see, the proper wick will allow your candle to liquify all the way across so you don't get that unsightly and wasteful ring of unused wax around the candle. To best achieve this and use every ounce for the best possible value, we recommend burning your candle at minimum until it has liquified all the way across the candle. It could take several hours to do this depending on the size of your candle. We also recommend you extinguish your candle after 4-6 hours of burning. When you see your wick is starting to curl up at the top and it's dancing around a lot, it's time for a rest. Allow your candle to solidify completely before re-lighting. It's also best practice to remove the burnt portion of the wick to keep your candle burning cleanly and to the best of its ability.

What are the benefits of a Soy candle vs a Paraffin candle?Soy is a more naturally sourced resource. It's grown! Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated. The hydrogenation process converts some of the fatty acids in the oil from unsaturated to saturated. Soy wax melts at a much lower temperature, is a softer wax and can easily be cleaned up by wiping away any residue and cleaning with soapy water! It's perfect to use in containers you want to re-use. Paraffin wax is much more difficult to clean up in case of a spill. Because soy wax melts at a lower temperature, it doesn't have the same intense heat a paraffin wax will. You can even use the melted wax as a soothing massage oil. Always test the temperature of your candle melt pool before using on skin - Some people are more sensitive to heat than others! Generally, Soy candles will burn cleaner than paraffin wax candles as they don't emit as much of the harmful substances into the air and most producers also choose to use a more natural wick. With any burning product however, you will still get soot no matter what.
